Visit the historic royal site of Pu’u Honua O Honaunau & *Swim with Dolphins at Waikaloa
We’ll journey down the historic Kona Coast to Bay where Capt. Cook first landed on Hawai’i Island, then head on to this Hawaiian Heritage National Park to enjoy the unique lava landscape and palm tree studded lagoon on this site considered sacred by Hawaiian royalty since the 17th century. Next, we’ll head back up the coast for a brief swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. Our adventure will conclude with an end-of-day beach barbeque complete with hula dancers and live music at the Four Seasons Hualalai.

Explore the Unique Lavascape of Hawaii
Visit Saddle Road and the Live Volcano, Kilauea – Full-Day Ecotour
Between the tallest volcanoes in Hawaii, Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa, we will explore a unique Lava landscape, and hike up a small cinder cone, into a Kipuka, a native Koa forest sanctuary. We will be able to date different lava flows based on their hue in the landscape. We will explore a lava tube with flashlights. Grab Lunch in Hilo, and head up to the active volcano Kiluaea for dessert! We will walk along archways of giant ferns, and view the Kiluaea Caldera, and the rising smoke of Halema’uma’u. A rare glimpse of the Apapane feeding on the majestic native Ohia Lehua trees is possible. On occasions, we’ll start South from Kona, and visit historic cultural sites, a black sand beach with palmtrees and a lagoon, where we have seen Hawaiian monk seal, and traverse black lavascape of the Ka’u Desert on our way to the volcano.

This dramatic coastal valley was the site of Hawaiian royalty for generations. Now a graceful jungle with towering waterfalls, a beautiful gray-sand beach and rivers for us to drive through. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach after taking in Waipio’s majesty.
